{welcome}

I am Angela Pursell and this is my blog. I am a studio photographer located in Doylestown Pennsylvania. This blog is my online journal where I will share with you my journey in life as a photographer and a person. Here you will be able to view my most recent sessions as well as take a little peek into my life.

I have been photographing children and their families for over 10 years and feel so fortunate to be able to watch little ones grow up through the lens of my camera. My style can be described as simple and classic with a journalistic feel. My goal is to produce the best images I can, resulting in fine art portraiture that conveys both authentic emotion and relationship. Simply put…I feel images, not just take them. There is something magical about capturing the spirit and personality of a person. That is what I strive to do.

In addition to children and family photography, I photograph expectant mothers and their newborns, high school seniors and select weddings and events per year. There is also the commercial side of my work that includes headshots and modeling portfolios.

Feel free to leave a comment or subscribe! I would love to hear from you.

Couple of things...

~ I am starting to book portrait sessions into August. Please contact me soon for availible session dates this spring and summer.

~ My wedding schedule is booked through November. I am currently taking appointments for any weddings planned after that time.

owen ~ 9 months

Got to spend some time with my little buddy Owen early this morning (Friday) in the city. I have been photographing him for almost a year now. He is one of my baby plan babies!

He just gets cuter each time I see him and is so funny. It has been a joy to photograph him throughout this past year and spend time with his wonderful parents.

Stefan and Ginny….here are a few of my favorites so far. (had trouble choosing!)

Oh…I love this first one. “Hi Owen, thank you for bringing your smile with you today!”

back.

Hello blog readers! It has been a little while since I have posted. A lot has been going on here…

First I have to share this image taken this past evening from the Doylestown Laundromat. My washer had seen its last day so here I was. The lighting was so beautiful…glad I had my camera ~my friend~ in the car. This really takes me back to my childhood.  :)

Ok…the next image (not taken by me) shows you one of the other issues this week. While I was in Chicago this past week I was not feeling very well, sure enough, Lyme Disease. Fun huh? I think I am on the upswing.

I did want to post a few from a couple of sessions these past 2 weeks. Are these little ones adorable or what?

Be sure to check back for more entries as I catch up on the blog-o-rama. Also…I will be in NYC next week.
Stay tuned as well for 4 weddings in 2 weeks as well as photos of a bunch of little cuties.

Thanks for stopping by as always.   A.

Amanda.

I can’t sleep so i thought I would post about my Amanda. Today she is 19. Maybe that is why I can’t sleep. My daughter is 19!

I almost did not survive her birth. There was an accident after she was born and I needed emergency surgery. I fell sleep on the operating table not sure if I was going to wake up.  I remember this so vividly. Knowing that she was ok was all I needed at that moment.

Here we are 19 years later. A lot of changes in our lives over the years. Now college and future…

Happy Birthday beautiful girl…I am so proud of you. Love you so much….

little girls.

I have 2 daughters, Ferron is almost 9 and Amanda will be 19 this Monday. They are both such tremendous people. Both unique and bright, strong and determined. When I was pregnant with Ferron, Amanda was extremely excited and was into every aspect of having a little sister. I remember when Ferron was born, Amanda could not hold her enough, or kiss her enough. I recollect one day when Amanda was sitting on the couch holding her little sister, she said to me, “Hey Mommy….don’t babies smell just wonderful?”. She was the little mother.

These 2 big sisters love their newborn Felicity very much. All the kisses were genuine and beautiful. There was a moment…and Christine knows when…that we both teared up when the girls were sitting together. Just one of those moments in time. I have to tell you, I was so happy to be there to document this.

Being a mom to little ones can be chaotic. It is moments like these that keep us going and ready for the next day. We put on our armour and move forward! Into the trenches of motherhood!

When I came home, I found some photos of my big girls when they were younger. Just taken by me…their mom.

strength in numbers.

Sunday morning…8:30 am. I arrived at Washington Square in Philly ready for my 4 family shoot!

I have to be honest with you….I really love photographing large family groups. I think it is because I am so far from mine. We stretch from Vermont to Illinois. Distance is difficult because we are close knit. I would give anything to live down the block from my sister Amy. Now that she is “in” we can talk for free…and we do.

Spending time with all of these wonderful people (here we go)… Anne, Michael, Rachel, Max, Phoebe, Carolyn, Chris, Cobrin, Paul, Tracy, Jackson, Sasha, Diana, Marina and Elio really lifted me. Oh….can’t forget Ally and Diana’s sister too!

Here are some of my favorites from our session together…

Thanks to all!

PS - These little kids were so stinkin’ cute.  :)

Love.

On Saturday morning I traveled to Morris PA for a wonderful wedding. The weather was amazing…warm but beautiful.  Being able to document the wedding of Brianna and Erick was so special to me. I will never forget this day…

magic.

Saturday morning I was honored to photograph my adorable little client Theresa. I documented her Christening 2 weeks ago. Here is her portrait taken this past Saturday…while I was on my way to a wedding in Morris PA.

She reminds me of a china doll. I could just grab those cheeks! I think I did.  :)
