Local photographer Caitlin Domanico, husband JP and their little man Stretch were my guests today in the studio for a maternity session. Caitlin is due with a little girl in April.
Lots of bakery goods, laughs, hugs, floor cleaning and talk of babies. There were so many great shots from our session. Here are a few I fell in love with. More to come.
Thanks so much for coming over…you both are wonderful! I mean you three.
Great to meet you too Ericha!

Miss L is a doll. My first session with her was exactly a year ago when she was 6 months old. She was so funny and had no problem with making herself at home in the studio today. I love watching these little ones grow. Honestly…it is one of the biggest benefits of what I do.
These are a gift for Daddy for Valentines Day from his girls.

The wonderful G. family came to the studio for a session to celebrate the birth of little Annie. I photographed Josiah when he was just a little guy, now he is a big brother. So adorable these kids.
Annie is a preemie and just came home last week. A little miracle.
I know you are excited to see some photos Amy and Dave…here are a few for ya! It was great to see you all and catch up.

Annie is so tiny. I love this shot showing Dave’s hand. You can see how small she is.

Baby alert! Jaime brought the little guys and Emma to the studio for their first visit. For those who follow my blog, I had photographed this beautiful family in the hospital when the boys were born in December.
We had a fun afternoon and it was wonderful to have Grandma there for some photos too. Here is a little sneak peek. Enjoy!

It’s 9:34 pm and my son Nick is somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on his way to Nairobi, Kenya. When I think about this opportunity…this life changing experience, I am overcome. As I dropped him off at PHL this morning, I hugged him one more time, and watched him as long as I could through the windows of the airport. Then he was on his way. He is traveling with other students from Messiah College.
This past Monday he turned 22 years old. 22 YEARS OLD! One day, when he was around 4, I was walking into the kitchen and I caught him swinging on the inside of the refrigerator door. He was a busy little guy and I was always a step behind. I felt like I was moving in slow motion as I lunged towards him to head off a potential disaster. As I reached for Nick, the plastic guard thing broke and he fell backwards hitting the floor…as did a jar of pickles and Grey Poupon mustard. I remember feeling guilty that I could not catch him in time…if I just moved a little quicker…walked into the kitchen a little earlier, maybe I could have prevented the big bump on his head. We ended up with a visit to the hospital. This was the first of many trips….my boy who has always been a little on the edge, loving the thrill. That however is a post for another time.
I wish I could always be there in that way for my kids. Just a step behind. Just in case they need Mom.
During the next few weeks I will be wondering what he is doing and experiencing. What he is eating, if he is drinking enough water and if he took the Malaria medicine as directed. For once I can’t call or text or email. I have to settle with sending prayers and good thoughts his way.
Godspeed my first born, have an amazing time. You have embarked on an adventure of a lifetime.
Oh, for those who are wondering what the title of this post means. That is the air-mile calculation from Philadelphia to Nairobi.

Wanted snow for this special engagement session so we went out and found some. Had a great time with Lisa, Matt and sister Carolyn. I know they were excited to see some images, wanted to get this post up for them.
Thanks guys!

This was hilarious…we were photographing in the lodge and this kid came over and sat down on the couch
and was talking to his mom on the mobile. Had to catch it. It was just too funny.

I love maternity sessions. Getting to know expecting families and sharing in this experience is a great pleasure. Anticipation for an upcoming birth…becoming parents, some for the first time, some not.
My session with Melissa and Tom was wonderful. She brought some special items to incorporate into the session. I love detail photography so this was especially fun for the photographer.
Now I get to look forward to meeting this little newborn soon….I love my job. Here are some of my favorites so far while proofing…

Melissa knit these for her little one. Lucky baby! Aren’t they wonderful?
