Amanda.

I can’t sleep so i thought I would post about my Amanda. Today she is 19. Maybe that is why I can’t sleep. My daughter is 19!

I almost did not survive her birth. There was an accident after she was born and I needed emergency surgery. I fell sleep on the operating table not sure if I was going to wake up.  I remember this so vividly. Knowing that she was ok was all I needed at that moment.

Here we are 19 years later. A lot of changes in our lives over the years. Now college and future…

Happy Birthday beautiful girl…I am so proud of you. Love you so much….

You captured the beauty of Amanda in both of these shots - and the love that she brings to the family. That is obviously a doting little brother on her arm!
Amanda - congratulations on turning 19! It almost feels bigger than 18, huh?
    I love you, Aunt Amy

My first granddaughter, Amanda, on her 19th birthday. Amazing. I also vividly remember her birth.. because I was the first to see her sweet, sweet, little face. What a joy that was for me…a blessing. Amanda was in her Daddy’s arms when I realized Angela was in trouble. I automatically slipped into my professional nurse mode and helped until she was stablized. I even kept my composure as we rolled her across the hall to the OR. But.. when she looked up at me and asked if she was going to die, I was suddenly seeing my little pigged-tailed girl again. I reassured her that she would be fine, but as I walked out into the hall, my knees buckled… Mom mode. After some time in the OR and several blood transfusions later, the crisis was over and she was okay. Whew. She and Amanda left the hospital several days later and settled into the routine at home. Amanda grew and continued to be sweeter and more beautiful each year. Now, at 19, she continues to grow, to learn, and to become more beautiful on the inside as well.
    I love her dearly.
