Angela Pursell - Doylestown, Pennsylvania Child and Family Photographer, Weddings, Senior, Maternity, Newborn. Philadelphia, Allentown, New York areas.
Close to 25% of my work is donated to charitable organizations and individuals. It is important to give. I feel blessed to be able to pass on to those the gift that has been given to me. I wanted write a blog entry to share with you one of the organizations that I volunteer my time and is very close to my heart.
The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) consists of a network of almost 3,000 volunteer professional photographers in the United States and in 8 countries who give the gift of infant bereavement photography, allowing families to honor and cherish their babies and share the spirits of their lives. At a family’s request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to the hospital or hospice location and will conduct a private and sensitive portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished newborn.
I am honored to be associated with such an amazing organization and also my other colleagues all over the world that give of their talents to heal. Please take the time to watch this segment about NILMDTS that aired on the Today Show on March 5, 2008. Thank you and please pass this information onto any family or friends you know that may benefit from these services.
I was proofing this session from today and fell in love with these images. Little one has had a tough week…some reflux issues that have made her very uncomfortable. Mommy and Grandma were wonderful during the session making sure everything was ready and that she was comfortable.
Karen…I hope you enjoy the images! I am looking forward to photographing Theresa’s Christening in May.
I love the city. There is something about the movement that affects me. Everywhere I would look I saw an image. That is how I am…wierd huh? I lived in Chicago before moving here and visiting Philly made me a little homesick for the Windy City.
Here are some more images from Sunday’s shoot for the boutique Scarlet Fiorella. If you are a new visitor please scroll to see more images. The goal was to produce images that were edgy, fun and full of personality. What do you think? Hey…use that comment box below and let me know.
Rufio…you are a true and loyal friend. The commitment to your family is unmatched. Thank you for your unconditional love, willingness to be dressed up in humiliating costumes, your expertise and skill in corralling the chickens, showing the squirrels their boundaries and keeping the area around Ian’s highchair clean for me…therefore making my job easier. These are just a few of the qualities that have made you the wonderful canine you are. Happy, Happy Birthday.
Bruce was excited to attend the party held for his best friend and brother.
Party goers enjoying themselves.
One of the party guests decided to relieve himself during our celebration…good grief! There is always one.
After my session with Mr. W this morning I packed up and traveled to Philly for an editorial session for a wonderful boutique in the Midtown Village area. Scarlet Fiorella is located at 113 South 13th Street. What an incredible afternoon we had!
Max, Scarlet, Miss Fiona, Jordyn and Ferron, you all did such a fantastic job and handled the quick changes like pros. Michelle, your boutique is amazing, thank you for having me down to photograph.
Here is a peek from our session. More to come tomorrow! Enjoy!
I started my day today visiting Walker…my young and cute client at his beautiful home. His parents own and operate Radclyffe Gallery. If you are ever in the New Hope area you should stop in to the gallery. The artists they represent are amazing and their framing services are first class.
Well we had our studio session 2 weeks ago and were finally able to have our outdoor session today. The weather was perfect for photographing. Here are some of my favorites from our session. This kid is so darn cute…I could have followed him around all day.
After the session in the previous post I went home and was amazed at the incredible light that was resting on the farm. Spring has arrived in Bucks County Pennsylvania! My 3rd child was willing to pose for me so off we went. She was insistent on wearing the hand-me-down dress from her cousin Tillie Pearl.
My 8 year old is the writer of the house and has been blessed with the most wonderful imagination. Last night I watched her in amazement as she walked glided through the living room draped in a white sheet, gold belt, flip flops and yellow pipe cleaners jeweled and wrapped around her arms proclaiming the throne of Egypt as hers.
Today she wanted to be “fierce” as she allowed me to photograph her in front of the old John Deere. I did not have to do much. She did her thing.
Ferron is obviously the daughter of a photographer. Last frame taken below. It will probably be the last for a while.
I was able to spend some more time with Sammy A. and his parents today. What a wonderful family. Spending time with them takes me back to when my first son was born 21 years ago. I remember getting used to the new little person in my arms. Now my first born is a junior in college, 2 and 1/2 hours from his mama.
This mama is so proud of her first born. I will continue to sit here and work late into the night…and reminisce of when he was this small.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog you have met Owen. I have known this little man since he was an itty bitty 2 week old. He is one of my baby plan babies so we get to visit with eachother every few months. Today I photographed him in the city. He is seriously tippping the cutiness scale! See you when you are nine months old buddy!
