We live on a wonderful farm. In the early springtime when the weather starts to get better, we all migrate outside to start working. It’s amazing…we all go to the places that make us each happy. The little ones go strait for the creek, our dog Rufio goes strait for the pond and Jeff and I start the annual Pursell Family Garden Extravaganza Project. We have many perennial flower beds as well as a great vegetable garden (my work of art). Jeff starts moving dirt and cleaning the beds. And the first thing I do is get into my little vegetable garden to wake it up. It gets cleaned up, tilled, fertilized and the planting starts. Today I planted peas, kale and lettuce. All hardy in cooler spring weather. As I work, my three friends Monday, Thursday and Saturday (my chickens) keep me company. I love this time of the year, it is a time of new growth and beginnings. Gardening is a true passion of mine. During the different stages in my life my garden has always remained a constant place of peace for me. From now until late October I will be there in the evenings, sometimes in the dark with a flashlight finishing the task at hand. I can’t get enough. Here are some images taken over the last couple of days from my home…
